SBM Appoints Christopher Wirth to the
Judicial Qualifications Committee
AUGUST 30 2018, LANSING MI - The Board of Commissioners for the State Bar of Michigan has appointed West Michigan attorney Christopher Wirth the to Judicial Qualifications Committee. The JQC is comprised of a handful of attorneys from across the state, selected and appointed by the Board. The role of the JQC is to interview and evaluate candidates seeking appointment to judicial vacancies and report in confidence to the authority requesting its assistance. Most commonly, the JQC is evaluating candidates to fill Circuit Court, Court of Appeals and Supreme Court positions at the appointment of the Governor. The JQC interviewing process is sometimes referred to by political insiders as "the most intimidating table in Lansing."
